The COMSTAR dissemination event

 

COMSTAR group picture COMSTAR was a joint venture project between the University of Birmingham (PRISM2), NAMTEC , ESI and AWM, incorporating a number of industrial partners including Rolls-Royce plc and Messier Dowty.  The project aim was to showcase the capabilities of computational science , technology and research within the West Midlands area, particularly in the field of welding simulation.

The project culminated with a dissemination event - held at Edgbaston County Cricket Ground on 31st March 2011 - to feed back results of the research to local and national companies and academic facilities with an active interest in welding and weld simulation.  The event was well-attended, with over 60 delegates from companies including Rolls-Royce plc, Jaguar-Land Rover, ALSTOM, Timet and Tata, as well as leading academics from the Universities of Nottingham, Cranfield, Warwick and Birmingham.
